The State Bank of India (SBI) has published two official recruitment notifications for the post of Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales) in the clerical cadre for 2026. This drive aims to fill a total of 10,662 vacancies across various States and Union Territories. The regular recruitment notice features 9,124 vacancies (7,680 regular posts and 1,444 backlog posts), whereas the special backlog drive incorporates an additional 1,538 posts for SC, ST, and OBC candidates.
Selected candidates will join as Clerks with an initial basic pay of ₹26,730/- (including two advance increments for graduates). The approximate starting gross monthly emoluments will be around ₹46,000/- in metro cities like Mumbai, inclusive of Dearness Allowance and other admissible perks.
Eligibility & Selection Criteria
Candidates applying for the SBI Clerk 2026 recruitment must satisfy specific educational qualifications and age bounds prior to registration:
- Educational Qualification: Graduation degree in any subject from a recognized university or equivalent. Final year/semester students can apply provisionally, provided they produce proof of passing the degree on or before 31st December 2026.
- Age Limit: Applicants must be between 20 to 28 years of age as of 1st April 2026. Upper age relaxation applies as per government guidelines: 3 years for OBC, 5 years for SC/ST, and up to 10 to 15 years for PwBD candidates.
- Selection Stages: Selection comprises three phases—Phase-I Online Preliminary Examination (100 Marks), Phase-II Online Main Examination (200 Marks), and a Local Language Proficiency Test (LPT) wherever applicable.

- Select the appropriate advertisement—either the Regular Recruitment or the Special Backlog Drive.
- Complete basic registration by filling in your full name, email ID, and mobile number to receive a registration number and password.
- Fill out the detailed application form including academic marks, personal details, and choice of state/UT.
- Upload required documents including recent passport-size photograph, live photograph, scanned signature, left-hand thumb impression, and handwritten declaration in English.
- Pay the application fee of ₹750/- (exempt for SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen) online using debit/credit cards or net banking.
- Submit the form, save the transaction receipt, and print a copy of the filled application form for future reference.
Important Instructions & Advice
Candidates must carefully check all details before final submission as corrections will not be permitted afterwards. A candidate can apply for vacancies in only one State/UT under each recruitment project. Inter-circle or inter-state transfers are strictly restricted during the initial 5 years of service. Candidates must present original identity proof, caste certificates, and marksheets during document verification and the Local Language Proficiency Test.
