The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has published Advertisement No. 11/2026 announcing recruitment for 137 Veterinary Officer / Block Veterinary Officer (VO/BVO) positions under the Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Department, Government of Assam. This recruitment drive offers veterinary science graduates a significant opportunity to secure a state government employment role in Pay Band 4 with extra allowances.
Out of the total 137 seats, 41 posts are reserved for women candidates across categories. Interested and eligible candidates can submit online applications starting from 7 August 2026 until 6 September 2026. Payment of application fees can be completed online up to 8 September 2026.
Eligibility & Selection Criteria
Candidates aspiring to apply for the APSC Veterinary Officer posts must satisfy specific qualification and domicile conditions:
- Educational Qualification: Applicants must hold at least a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science from a recognized University or Institution.
- Age Criteria: Candidates must be between 21 and 38 years of age as of 1st January 2026. Age relaxation is permissible for reserved categories, including up to 41 years for OBC/MOBC, 43 years for SC/ST, and up to 48 years for PwBD applicants.
- Domicile requirement: Candidates must be Indian citizens and permanent residents of Assam. Valid proof such as a Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) or an Employment Exchange Registration Certificate issued in Assam must be produced.
- Small Family Norms: Applicants must submit Form-A declaration adhering to the Assam Public Services (Application of Small Family Norms in Direct Recruitment) Rules, 2019.
- Selection Procedure: APSC will notify the final selection pattern (written examination/interview) through a subsequent addendum or corrigendum depending on the response received.
Step-by-Step Application / Download Process
- Visit the official APSC recruitment portal at apscrecruitment.in.
- If you are a new applicant, complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) profile using an active mobile number and email ID.
- Log in with your credentials and update your profile details along with necessary educational and identity documents.
- Locate the notification for Veterinary Officer / Block Veterinary Officer (Advt No. 11/2026) and click on Apply.
- Fill in all required fields marked with an asterisk (*).
- Upload recent passport-sized photographs and clear signature images formatted between 50 KB and 200 KB.
- Upload required supporting certificates in PDF format (maximum size up to 4 MB per document).
- Verify all filled data carefully using the Preview button prior to final submission.
- Proceed to pay the necessary application and processing fee via the available online payment gateways.
- Download and print the final application form receipt for future reference.
